IContemporary meets traditional trullo at this country retreat with heated pool in the famous village of Cisternino.
With its far-reaching views across gently undulating countryside and the beautiful village of Cisternino, a garden of whispering olive trees, Zen-inspired interiors and a pulse-slowing stone pool, Trullo di Luce invites repose. Inside: accommodation at Trullo Di Luce is spread over the main Trulli and a lovingly restored lower level. The former is designed to embrace the stunning architectural features of the trulli, not least the honey-coloured local stone floors with under floor heating and pale walls perforated by small windows and billowing white curtains. These aspects are subtly juxtaposed with modern elements including the handmade natural olive wooden furniture, stunning art work and large sliding glass doors of the central section and the lower living level, allowing this trullo to be filled with light. The main entrance takes one into an open entrance hall where there are two king-sized bedrooms with local stone floors, large handmade wooden beds and artfully designed unique bedroom furniture, including chest of draws, side tables and wardrobes. There has been no expense spared on the memory foam mattresses down to the fine details of the Egyptian white bed linen and soft luxury pillows, white cascading curtains hang down from the windows, next to the air-conditioning which is in every room. Off this is The family shower room, which has original local tiles, plus stone and wood finishes, and bright large mirrors, bringing elements of the outdoors inside and creating a relaxing space that has nature at its heart. Next to this is the stunning Trullo bedroom with a further handmade king-sized bed, delightful furnished bedside tables, chest of draws and plenty of hanging space.
